Japanese Yokai Festival
Delve into the mysteries of Japanese yokai at this festive celebration! Yokai are supernatural beings from Japanese folklore—some inhabit everyday objects, some are mimics, and some even resemble humans. From the kappa to the tengu, discover some of Japan’s most famous yokai and enjoy fun yokai-themed crafts. This event, presented in partnership with the Hinoki Foundation and visitors from Shimane University in Japan, will also feature a special interactive performance by SAKURA "Cherry Blossom" Japanese Instrumental Group. Experience the powerful sounds of Taiko drums, traditional festival music, the Lion Dance (Shishimai), and join in a lively Bon Odori dance celebration. People of all ages are welcome to participate, and we invite everyone to wear festive attire such as a yukata or kimono to celebrate together!
Please note- event starts in the Whole Meeting Room
