World Food Prize/Meals from the Heartland Meal Packing Event

This October, as we mark the 40th anniversary of the World Food Prize, we’re bringing people together to do something big in the fight against hunger — and we need your help!

On Tuesday, October 20, the World Food Prize Foundation and Meals from the Heartland will bring together hundreds of volunteers in Des Moines with one ambitious goal: pack 600,000 hunger-relief meals in just 60 minutes and break the world record for the most hunger-relief meals packed in one hour.

600,000 meals. 60 minutes. One world record to break.

But this is about far more than a record. Every meal packed will help feed people facing hunger. And during a week when leaders from around the world are gathering in Iowa to discuss solutions to global food insecurity, we have an opportunity to put those conversations into action.
