Meet the Author: Julie Buchholtz

Join us for a special reading of Mama’s Song by Indigenous children’s author Julie Buchholtz. Mama’s Song is a tender story that introduces young readers to the Ojibwe concept of mino-bimaadiziwin or “living the good life” through the Seven Grandfather Teachings of Wisdom, Love, Respect, Bravery, Honesty, Humility, and Truth. Following the reading, we will enjoy a hands-on activity inspired by the Seven Grandfather Teachings, giving families an opportunity to explore these important values together.
