Fall Colors at Bald Knob Cross

The event includes vendors and various family activities. We will have bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals and other family activities. Join us for lunch, with food from the Cross including Chili, Chili Cheese Dogs and Hot Dogs. And don’t forget to get a family picture on one of our fall-themed photo sets, with the breathtaking scenery in the background. Entry Fee: $10 per carload, with payment at the gate. Towering above the landscape at a over 111 feet and visible for over 7,500 square miles, this is the Bald Knob Cross of Peace – one of the largest crosses in the United States. Bald Knob Cross is situated in the Shawnee National Forest near the small town of Alto Pass, Illinois. BK Mountain itself towers 1000 feet above sea level.
