Free Youth Underwater Hockey Try-It Night (Ages 10–14)

Underwater hockey is a fast team sport played on the bottom of the pool. Players wear fins, a mask and snorkel, and use a short stick to push a weighted puck toward the other team's goal. It's one of the most welcoming sports around: size and strength matter less than timing, breath control and teamwork.

Our free Try-It Nights are built for kids ages 10 to 14 who love the water. Especially kids who haven't found their fit in traditional sports.

WHAT HAPPENS AT A TRY-IT NIGHT

- 6:30 – Arrive, check in and get fitted with gear

- 6:40 – Pool-side intro: how the game works and how to breathe through a snorkel

- 6:50 – Skills in the shallow end: surface diving, moving the puck, passing

- 7:10 – Small games and relays with other kids

- 7:25 – Friendly scrimmage with experienced players in the water beside them

- 7:45 – Wrap-up and time for parents to ask questions

Kids set their own pace. Anyone who needs a break can rest at the wall and jump back in when ready.

WHY PARENTS CHOOSE IT

- Made for the non-traditional athlete. Kids who skip traditional sports often thrive here.

- Everyone plays. Small groups and constant rotation mean lots of time on the puck.

- Real fitness and confidence. Breath control, swim stamina and teamwork.

- Led by experienced players. Green Bay's club dates back to 1972 and relaunched in 2022.

WHAT TO BRING

A swimsuit and towel. We provide fins, mask, snorkel, stick, glove and cap.

AFTER YOUR FREE VISIT

Kids who want to keep playing can join an 8-week Kroc Center youth session for $64. Loaner gear is available while your child decides whether to stick with it.
