📚 Meet Grant Wood Expert Wanda M. Corn

Join us Wednesday, November 18, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Sioux City Art Center Lecture Hall for a special presentation by renowned art historian Dr. Wanda M. Corn on her new book, The Couple with the Pitchfork: American Gothic from Easel to Icon.

Drawing on five decades of research, Corn explores the story behind Grant Wood’s American Gothic—from its creation and early reception to its transformation into one of America’s most recognizable cultural icons. Dr. Corn will also be available to sign copies of the book, available now for pre-order and will be available for purchase during this evening.

The presentation is offered in conjunction with Pasture to Present: Grant Wood’s Corn Room and New Visions of Rural America, on view through December 6 at the Sioux City Art Center.
