Ceramics Workshop: Venus Figurines
Spend an afternoon shaping clay and exploring stories as we consider our connection to ancient feminine figurines with instructor Anna Stoysich. In this workshop, we’ll look at how these timeless forms, voluptuous, rounded, faceless, and deeply human, have appeared across cultures with their exact purposes still unknown.
Using clay as our medium, we’ll explore with curiosity the meaning and possible uses of these historical figurines. Each participant will create their own figurine inspired by personal intention, whether rooted in ancestry, imagination, or present-day reflection. Together, we’ll consider how these forms carry meaning, how they might have been used, and how they continue to speak to us today.
