Names Without Numbers is a four-piece rock and roll band from Omaha, NE / Council Bluffs, IA. The band was originally formed by a group of longtime friends and musicians trying to transition away from their pop-punk roots to a grittier, emotional style of rock.

On their first album, Running Marathons / Chasing Ambulances, the group started to find their voice, with a collection of songs that are as honest as they are energetic. As a tribute, in a way, to losing one of the founding members to law school, the album reflects on the band’s uncertain future as people change, grow older, and move away.

The band played and/or toured throughout the midwest with the likes of Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional, Copeland, Plain White T’s, and dozens of other acts before deciding to take a break to focus on other projects and responsibilities. This didn’t last long, however, and NWN eventually decided to regroup and continue creating music that inspires them.

Stylistically, the band plays a blend of indie-power-pop, with plenty of raw emotion and catchy hooks. Some bands with a comparable style include Motion City Soundtrack, The Get Up Kids, Jimmy Eat World, Moving Mountains, Anberlin, and Thrice.
