Downtown Traverse City Halloween Walk Returns on All Hallows Eve
The Downtown Traverse City Association (DTCA) invites ghouls, goblins, and families of all ages to the annual Downtown Halloween Walk! Keeping this tradition safe, fun, and accessible for our community is our top priority. You spoke, and the DTCA listened — the Downtown Halloween Walk is moving back to Saturday morning!
NEW DATE: Saturday, October 31, 2026
NEW TIME: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
LOCATION: Downtown Traverse City
Mark your calendars, prep those costumes, and get ready for a morning of continuous trick-or-treating across the Downtown TC district. Afterwards, stick around to grab lunch with the family!
Following a massive turnout of nearly 4,000 attendees last year, participating businesses across the Downtown district are preparing to welcome costumed strollers. “We’re encouraging families to explore the full footprint of Downtown, beyond the standard haunts to all corners — they’ll likely have some special treats for your efforts,” shared Sara Klebba, Traverse City DDA Director of Events & Engagement. “After your candy bags are full, stay for dinner or treat yourselves to take out."
Event Details:
Format: This is a continuous, district-wide strolling event with no single central gathering point. Families can start their trick-or-treating route at any participating business. On Front Street, the flow will go east-to-west on the north side and west-to-east on the south side.
Transit & Parking: Parking is available at street meters as well as the Old Town and Larry C. Hardy parking structures. Attendees are encouraged to take BATA’s free Bayline shuttle into town or ride/walk via the TART Trail.
Full merchant participation updates will be published closer to the event at downtowntc.com.
