The Blue Herons create wistful dreampop with a cinematic sense of space and emotion. Their songs

unfold like film scenes lit by sparkling guitars and clear, expressive vocals. Drifting between jangle pop,

atmospheric dreampop, and hazy jangle gaze, their music balances clarity and depth, with intricate

layered guitar melodies floating above softened shoegaze textures.

Since coming together as a duo in 2020, the transatlantic pair of Andy Jossi (Switzerland) and

Gretchen DeVault (United States) have crafted a distinct, heartfelt sound where glimmering guitars and

carefully unfolding arrangements intertwine with melancholy-tinged vocals and effortlessly catchy melodies.

Their music draws comparisons to The Sundays, Alvvays, Hatchie, and Sea Lemon.

Their latest album, Demon Slayer, which came out in April 2026 on Shelflife Records, broadens their sonic palette

and emotional range. Written over the course of a year, the album took shape through an inspired

back-and-forth between two prolific songwriters trading sketches, melodies, and ideas across time zones.

The result feels immediate and deeply collaborative: two distinct musical voices weaving texture and melody

into something greater than the sum of its parts. What emerges is a sound rooted in melody but driven

by feeling.

Together, they build a world that feels both intimate and expansive, creating music that shimmers, swells, and

stays with you long after the last chord fades.
