Al’s journey to music has been anything but conventional. With no formal training beyond playing the saxophone in middle school band, he made a pivotal decision to leave his collegiate football scholarship and pursue a creative career. He was born and raised in the Chicagoland area, and now resides in Kalamazoo, MI. The 2024 co-release of Weird Vibes with The Valley Drive marked a critical moment, showcasing his talent as a co-writer and performer. This experience fueled his shift towards solo songwriting and DIY production, where he expanded his skill set beyond guitar to include bass, keys, drums and vocal performance. Inspired by the timeless energy of The Rolling Stones, The Doors, and the soulful vibes of mid-century R&B classics, Al's work also channels modern indie-pop influences such as Mac DeMarco, Her's and Tame Impala. This fusion creates a sound that is a testament to his eclectic palette.
