
Human Rights Program 10th Anniversary Symposium Part II: Speaker Presentations
In celebration of the Human Rights Program's tenth anniversary, we are pleased to present a symposium featuring key figures in the field at home and abroad in two parts, with a film screening on Thursday evening at 7pm, October 22nd, in RAWL 1057, speaker presentations and discussion on Friday afternoon from 1-3pm, October 23rd, in PMU 118.
James D. Le Sueur, Professor of International Relations at University of Nebraska-Lincoln will screen his film "The Art of Dissent" on the Thursday, followed by a Q&A.
On Friday, October 23rd from 1-4pm in The Purdue Memorial Union room 118, speakers will present and discuss with the audience and each other. Lev Golinkin, author and journalist, will be in conversation with Rebekah Klein-Pejšová, Associate Professor of History at Purdue and Director of the Human Rights Program about immigration and refugee movement. Yael Bromberg, Esq., practicing at Bromberg Law LLC, and Adjunct professor of Law at American University will speak on Youth Voting Rights: Civil Rights, the Twenty-Sixth Amendment, and the Fight for American Democracy on College Campuses. The program culminates with a talk by Samuel Moyn, Professor Law and History at Yale University on Gerontocracy in America: How the Old are Hoarding Power and Wealth - and What to do About it.
