Iowa Conservation Corps History Presentation

Date & Time: Tuesday, October 20th | 7:15-8:30 PM

Location: FPL Meeting Room

Audience: Adults

Join Iowa author and historian Linda McCann at Fairfield Public Library for a fascinating look at the Civilian Conservation Corps in Southeast Iowa. Drawing on years of research and firsthand accounts from former CCC members, McCann explores how the New Deal program provided work for young men during the Great Depression while leaving a lasting mark on Iowa's parks, forests, soil conservation efforts, and public lands. Learn about the camps, projects, and personal stories that shaped communities across Southeast Iowa and helped transform the state's landscape. Books by the author will be available for purchase and signing following the presentation.
