About the book
After shipwrecking on a desolate island off Patagonia, the surviving crew of the British warship HMS Wager endures months of starvation before thirty men escape to Brazil as heroes. However, six months later, another group of survivors surfaces, accusing the first of mutiny. David Grann recounts the harrowing true story of anarchy, survival, and the life-or-death court martial that followed.
