About the book

Michael Finkel chronicles the story of master thief Stéphane Breitwieser, who carried out over 200 audacious museum heists across Europe with his girlfriend. Driven by an obsession with beauty rather than money, he kept hundreds of stolen treasures in secret rooms to admire. This riveting account explores his extraordinary thefts, dangerous disregard for risk, and ultimate, spectacular downfall.
