Off the Beaten Craft: Creative Mending

Have you stained your favorite top and can’t get it out? Does your old pair of jeans need a little something extra to make them feel uniquely yours? Let’s creatively mend them, together!

In this workshop you will learn the basics of different needle types and the various thread options, all while walking you through visible mending techniques. The techniques taught will be focused on surface embroidery & hand sewing.

All materials and tools are provided, but if you have a specific aesthetic in mind, you’re welcome to bring your own supplies. It’s highly recommended that you bring a clothing item to repair or decorate, but if you don’t have anything on hand, that’s totally okay! You’ll be able to practice techniques on sample fabric and create patches that can be used later.

This workshop is best suited for folks who feel comfortable with basic hand sewing like replacing a button, counted cross stitch, or embroidery.
