Sunday Morning Worship: 1st Sunday of Advent, St. Olaf Band

The 1st Sunday of Advent; Sunday Worship with Holy Communion.

The preacher today will be Associate College Chaplain Sarah Semmler Smith ’04; presided by College Chaplain Matthew Marohl and presided by Jonathan Madden ’20, Interim Cantor to the Student Congregation.

This morning’s service will be led by the St. Olaf Band; conducted by Henry Dorn, Professor of Music. Founded in 1891, the St. Olaf Band is the oldest music organization at St. Olaf College. The band has toured nationally since 1904 and internationally since 1906, when it performed a four-week, 30-concert tour of Norway, making it the first American collegiate band to tour Europe. The band has toured Norway, Great Britain, Japan, central Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

Sunday Worship is a time of inspiration and worship for body, mind, and spirit; a meaningful beginning to a new week. All are welcome!
