Letterpress Printing: Power of the Press
Learn about the history and power of the printing press as a tool for sharing information and self-expression, then use the printing press yourself to print a unique message. The teaching artist will demonstrate typesetting and printing. Then each participant will choose a word or short phrase and make your own print–this could be a protest phrase, poem excerpt, quote, etc. Use wood or bamboo type to set the phrase, then ink it up and print a few copies to take home.
