Stories and Crafts With The Museum of Russian Art

PreK-grade 3. Join us to listen to a read-aloud story related to art and culture of the Russian region and then create an art project to take home. Led by Kelly McKay, Director of Education at The Museum of Russian Art. Materials provided. Collaborator: The Museum of Russian Art (TMORA).

Monday, September 21: We will read the classic folktale "The Gigantic Turnip," by Aleksei Tolstoy and Niamh Sharkey, then create our own unique artworks inspired by the fall harvest season.

Tuesday, November 3: Join us as we read "All the Faces of Me," written by Laura Alary and illustrated by Salini Perera, then create our own artwork inspired by the nesting dolls in the book. We will also visit with nesting dolls from TMORA's education collection.

Saturday, December 12: Join us to celebrate the coming winter season as we read "The Little Snowgirl" by Carolyn Croll, then create special winter holiday decorations inspired by the museum's collection of Russian New Year ornaments.
