Adaptive Trauma Informed Self-Defense
No one goes through life without facing some struggles, and if your mobility, flexibility, or relationship with your body isn’t what it used to be, this adaptive trauma informed self-defense class is for you. Everyone should feel safe, and in this hands-on, participant-lead self-defense class instructor Eryka Cook of Empowermental will introduce you to tools to help boost your confidence and help you feel empowered! Eryka has decades of experience and a black belt in Karate.
Trauma informed self-defense takes your past experiences into consideration to find what will work best for you. No matter your ability or how you move through the world, you are welcome in this judgement-free class. This adaptive class has a focus on making sure that you learn ways to stay safe that work well for YOU, and not a one-size-fits-all lecture. No matter your ability or how you move through the world, you are welcome in this judgement-free class.
You are encouraged to bring your questions and concerns and Eryka will provide advice and adjust the course to meet your needs. Adults of all experience levels are invited to join this participant-lead introduction to self-defense. In addition to learning effective physical aspects of defense techniques, we will also cover ideal target areas, using your voice, real life scenarios, harnessing your inner strength and how to harness your energy.
