World Book -- Online Learning for Every Age

Whatever happened to encyclopedias? Well, here’s one that’s still around. A print copy rests on its own Lazy Susan at the service desk at the Downtown Branch. Volumes can be checked out from the stacks, also Downtown.

But now everyone can have access to the World Book Online for just the price of a Rock Island Library card.

It is safe. Kids and grandkids can find fun and learning activities throughout the site. Just as any adult can learn more about their world by picking up a volume at the library and reading through those pages of knowledge—its resources and research trusted by many generations, so the older learner can find fascinating articles online as well. All articles are vetted for accuracy, objectivity, and reading level.

World Book — It’s still a thing. Find out more with this presentation at your library!
