Family history research recognizes the power of family stories in helping to pass down family history.

As Perry found in this year's Peoria Reads book, Warrior Girl Unearthed by Angeline Boulley, the history of the family revolves around discovered artifacts and stories. This online presentation will discuss the power of stories in keeping the family and culture alive, and highlight preserving those memories.

Rick Voight, a lifelong snapshooter, has been in memories industries for a few decades. He is the CEO of Vivid-Pix, a company focused on developing easy-to-use software that helps you RESTORE – RELIVE – SHARE your old and new pictures and documents. Vivid-Pix invents and harnesses technologies, making it simple to relive memories.

Their motto, “Don’t Let Your Memories Fade™ has been adopted by the Local History and Genealogy (LHG) Department of the Peoria Public Library. Rick and Sue Kaufman, Genealogy Librarian at PPL will discuss importance of stories and saving those stories.

LHG houses a Vivid-Pix station. Learn about the importance of saving memories in this presentation and then visit the library to help preserve yours.
