Mindful Living (Five-week class)

The Neenah Public Library, in collaboration with Deb Skyrms, will offer a free five-week course on “Mindful Living”. The five-week class will be held at the Neenah Public Library Wednesdays from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on November 4, 11, 18 and December 2 and 9. The class is free; registration is required. Participants must attend the first day. Class size is limited.

Class participants will explore the many benefits of living mindfully – resulting in a less stressful life. You’ll learn how to meditate, manage emotions, and challenge negative thoughts. Throughout the class, the book, Slowing Down to the Speed of Life, by Richard Carlson and Joseph Bailey, rev. ed. 2009, will be used in discussions.

The class will be taught by Deb Skyrms, a Professional Counselor. Deb was a mental health therapist for ThedaCare and most recently an adjunct faculty member at Fox Valley Technical College teaching the class, “Living Mindfully.”

This program was made possible by the Friends of the Neenah Library and the Neenah Public Library Trust Fund. Donations to the Friends and the Trust Fund (https://neenahlibrary.org/donate) are always accepted and appreciated.

Everyone is welcome. If accommodations are needed to attend, please contact the library administrative office at 920-886-6315 or by email at [email protected] at least 24 hours in advance of the program.
