Suburban Homesteading: Gardening for Winter Wildlife
The garden doesn’t stop being useful when the growing season ends. Learn how to design and manage your garden to provide food, shelter, and habitat for birds, pollinators, and other wildlife throughout the fall and winter. UW-Madison Extension Horticulture Educator Jacob Kluza will help us take a look at plants that offer seeds, berries, and other food sources, as well as the importance of leaving certain stems, leaves, and plant debris in place for overwintering insects and other wildlife. We’ll also discuss simple changes you can make in your garden to support wildlife through the colder months while creating a more resilient and interesting landscape.
