You're Invited to the Opening of the Community Art Gallery at Carnegie-Schadde Memorial Public Library!
Community Art Gallery Opening Reception
October 21, 2026 | 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Celebrate the opening of the new Community Art Gallery in the Wichern Family Reading Room on the lower level of the Carnegie-Schadde Memorial Public Library. Meet featured artist Marlys Greenhalgh and experience the first exhibition in a new space dedicated to local and regional arts.
The Community Art Gallery was created to provide an accessible and inspiring venue that showcases local and regional artists, fosters community engagement, and expands access to arts and humanities throughout Sauk County. The gallery will host rotating exhibitions, artist talks, and other opportunities for the public to connect with the arts.
The inaugural exhibition features the work of Marlys Greenhalgh, a Baraboo-area painter and printmaker whose artwork is inspired by the landscapes, flora, fauna, and natural beauty of the Baraboo Hills. As the artist behind Prickly Pear Studio, Greenhalgh is known for her plein air paintings, printmaking, and lifelong dedication to arts education and artistic expression.
Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artist, view original works, and celebrate a new cultural destination for the community.
Are you an artist interested in exhibiting your work? Community members are encouraged to attend the opening reception, explore the gallery space, and learn about future exhibition opportunities.
Free and open to the public.
To preview Marlys Greenhalgh's artwork, visit Prickly Pear Studio.
This project is supported in part by a grant from the Sauk County Economic Development, Arts & Culture Committee and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin.
