Flyboys: A True Story of Courage by James Bradley

Monday, November 9, 6:00 pm

During World War II, nine US pilots were shot down during a raid over the remote island of Chichi Jima, near Iwo Jima. Eight of them survived long enough to be captured and then executed by the Japanese; the sole rescued crewman was George H.W. Bush. This book, which shares the story of these POWs, also gives the perspectives of both American and Japanese soldiers.
