Project Hail Mary
The highly anticipated film adaptation of Andy Weir’s popular novel gets the big-screen treatment. In the near future, the sun is dimming. Ryland Grace, a former molecular biologist working as a middle school science teacher, is tapped to join a highly specialized research team because of his background in speculative astrobiology. It’s determined that a single-celled organism they dub “astrophage” is feeding on the sun’s energy.
Later, he wakes up on a spacecraft with amnesia, the only surviving member of the three-person crew. As Ryland recovers his memory in bits and pieces, he befriends an alien he calls Rocky. Rocky is stranded in a nearby ship, and his home planet is also adversely affected by astrophage. Ryland and Rocky pool their resources and unique skills to find a solution before it’s too late.
Ryan Gosling, Sandra Hüller, James Ortiz, and Lionel Boyce star in this thrilling sci-fi adventure.
