Angels of Mercy: Nurse POWs in WWII

During World War II, nearly 100 U.S. Army and Navy nurses and 30 Australian nurses were taken prisoner in the South Pacific. Even in captivity, and often while facing their own illness and hardship, these nurses continued to care for fellow prisoners for more than three years. As supplies dwindled and conditions worsened, they relied on skill, determination, and compassion when little else remained. This powerful lecture highlights the leadership of the chief nurses who held their teams together and inspired unwavering care in the darkest of circumstances.*Registration required
