Dark Hollows Haunted Hike at Camp Big Timber

Deep in the fog-covered hills of Elgin, IL, Haul Away Timber Co. was once a logging camp abandoned after workers mysteriously vanished and others were found torn apart. Years later, the land became Camp Big Timber, but locals still whisper, “They built that camp on something that wasn’t finished.”

The rules remain simple: never leave your cabin after the final whistle. And if you hear a third whistle … pretend you didn’t.

Wear your fear-fueled footwear and enter the haunted woods of the old Haul Away Timber Co. Experience The Legend of the Dark Hollows!

Things to know about the Dark Hollows Haunted Hike

Online ticket sales only.

No discounts available on tickets purchased at the door.

Spend 45 minutes walking through the Hollows at Camp Big Timber.​

Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes.​

Listen closely for the third whistle.
