Beginning Hand Embroidery

This class is a short introduction to surface embroidery using cotton threads. Students will learn how to handle the cotton threads; stitch stem, lazy daisy and French knot stitches; and be introduced to tools for embroidery. Samples of types of hand embroidery and embroidery resources will be shown and discussed during the class. Students will stitch a small daisy flower.

Judy Borreson Caruso designs and teaches cotton thread surface embroidery and rayon thread Brazilian embroidery. She has taught for over twenty years locally and for national organizations including the Embroiderers’ Guild of America and the Brazilian Dimensional Embroidery International Guild.
