Posthuman Pedagogy: Rethinking Teaching and Learning in the AI Age

Dr. Jennifer Qian is an Associate Professor of Learning Analytics and Educational Technology in LSU’s Lutrill & Pearl Payne School of Education. Her scholarship spans emerging technologies and

pedagogy, instructional design, and technology leadership. Her recent work focuses on AI models, prompt engineering, and AI policy, literacy, and pedagogy. Drawing on her books Synthetic Intelligence in Education and Interpassive Learning in the AI Age, she will explore how AI invites us to rethink and redesign teaching and learning. In this workshop, participants will explore when AI deepens learning and when it takes over the thinking that drives learning. Together, we will engage in a cross-disciplinary conversation about what education should become as AI reshapes our relationship to knowledge, thinking, and learning.
