UAB Health and Extreme Weather Collaborative: Retreat 1

Join researchers from across UAB for the first retreat of the UAB Health and Extreme Weather Collaborative, an interdisciplinary initiative focused on advancing research at the intersection of health, climate, and extreme weather. This interactive working session will bring together faculty and researchers to form cross-school teams, explore five key research themes, and identify collaborative project opportunities.

Participants will learn about available research resources, engage in facilitated breakout discussions, and help develop project concepts that will move forward between Retreat 1 and Retreat 2. The session will conclude with team report-outs and planning for next steps.

Continental breakfast will be available beginning at 7:30 a.m., and lunch will be provided following the program.

Registration is open to all interested UAB researchers. Register by October 28, 2026. During registration, participants will rank their preferred research themes.
