Assessment and Teaching Conference

At the 2026 Assessment and Teaching Conference, Pitt instructors are invited to explore how we design, guide, and assess experiential learning. The 14th annual conference, sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the University Center for Teaching and Learning, is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23, 2026.

At Pitt, experiential learning is defined as an intentionally designed educational process in which learners engage in activities which are connected to real-world contexts. Through collaboration with others, students engage in structured guidance and feedback, critical reflection, and integrate theory with practice to develop new knowledge, skills, perspectives, and values in ways that are rigorous, meaningful, and transferable.
