Audition (1999)

A widower agrees to a fake film audition, arranged by a friend to help him meet a new wife under the pretense of casting a role. Takashi Miike adapted the film from Ryu Murakami's novel, keeping its slow courtship intact right up until the story takes its infamous turn.
