Chicken Scratch Embroidery Tea Party

Join us!

We are excited to bring you a BRAND-NEW program — Chicken Scratch Embroidery Tea Party!

Join us for a fun afternoon of stitching, sipping and learning from 2-5 p.m., on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the OSU Botanic Garden Education Center!

What is Chicken Scratch Embroidery, you ask?

Chicken scratch embroidery is a traditional embroidery technique stitched on gingham fabric, and we can’t wait for you to try it! During this hands-on workshop, participants will learn a little about the history of chicken scratch embroidery, see examples of this unique art form, and create their own piece.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be a tea party without tea and light refreshments!

This program is open to both youth and adults, but space is limited to the first 35 participants who register and pay the $20 programming fee per person.

Pre-registration is required by October 26.

Pre-register here:

We are so excited to offer something new and hope you’ll join us for an afternoon of creativity, history, tea, and fun!
