2026 Hayes Symposium

Keynote Speaker:

Maureen Leffler, DO, MPH

Chief Wellbeing Officer, Center for WorkLife Wellbeing, Christiana Care

Dr. Leffler will set the stage by sharing how the field of wellbeing professionals defines this work and the evidence behind why it matters – to healthcare workers and patients. After sharing an empirically based operational framework, she will outline evidence-based approaches to cultivate a work environment that promotes meaning, connection and joy. Her presentation will include examples of programming at both the national and local levels, with a focus on initiatives specifically impacting Delaware-based health systems.

Lightning Round Talks and a Panel Discussion will follow the keynote. Representatives from Bayhealth, Beebe Healthcare, Christiana Care, and Nemours, will share their workforce wellbeing initiatives, lessons learned, and practices that have made a meaningful impact. The discussion will include an opportunity for audience questions.
